I have never been part of a book club. I have tried to set up several but they have never seemed to have worked out. But, I love reading and I love discussing the books when I’ve finished them; that’s part of the reason I starting keeping my book journal to discuss the books.
My mum is part of two book clubs. At one time she had three on the go. So, we decided to set up the Smart family book club, with Mum and I, Dad and Lulah. We’ll try and read a book a month, then discuss either in person or over then phone. Dad has chosen first, then Mum, then me, then Lulah, so we’ll all get to pick three books in 2017. It can be something we have already read, something we want to share with the others or something completely new, just nothing too long.
I shall write up our thoughts and disagreements here. It should be interesting.
